Tips for tranny fluid change?
I've got 3 bottles of Honda MTF, and I can see both the drain bolt and the fill hole, but I was wondering what the best technique is for filling. I know you fill till it starts coming out, but how are you guys pouring it into the fill hole? A funnel with a hose from above the engine?
Any input would be helpfull. Thanks.

I went to Home Depot and bought silicone hose that is large enough to fit around the small hole of a funnel and long enough (about 2-3 ft). I snaked the hose down through the engine bay into the fill hole, plugged the funnel into the other end of the hose and filled it up. Just make sure that all of the oil gets out of the hose.
I jacked the car and removed the front passenger wheel for easier access.
BTW, gear oil does smell !

Yep, the pump saved my ****. I have a mighty vac which I used to pump the fluid into the tranny.
If you don't feel like spending that much money (~$20) then you can use a regular funnel and buy some of that clear tubing from Lowe's or any other home improvement store and hook it to the bottom of funnel so you can fill it that way.
Then you're only out a few bucks. Tip the larger the diameter of the tubing the better. That MTL doesn't flow all that great at room temp so if you use a small diameter hose it'll take forever.

Buy a fluid pump from your local Autozone, Advance Auto, etc. It works wonders
Should have brought it to the track friday. We could have doen it then.

Thanks guys. I'll probably go with the hose method for now. Maybe I'll get fancy and put a valve towards the end of the tube that I can close off right when I have reached the fill point.
Unless you have a lift at home/work, you must jack up your car.
However, one thing that is tricky is leveling the car. One trick that Ken (black R) and I do is placing a scissor jack securly underneath the front-right jacking point. Now, jack up the car, remove your front-right wheel from the car. Lower the car and, voila, your car will "sit" on the scissor jack and it's level. (At this point, you have 3 tires + 1 scissor jack leveling the car.) We figure this way you don't have to jack up the front, then the rear. It saves some time.

What about the tip of filling from the speedo drive .... or something like that.
