This happened after my last pass down the track
at first it looks like just a blown hg

Notice the inner sleeve is still in one piece. i'm thinkin the gasket blew so hard it separated the outter lining from the sleeve
btw this was a 81.5mm darton sleeved block
9:1 pistons
sc61 @ 26psi
~550whp or so (i dynoed 511whp @ 23psi)
I rode the limiter in 3rd too long (didn't realize i was on it... newbie mistake)

Darton makes many different kinds of sleeves, infact they make lots of the sleeves for many places that sleeve them... they make those T braced ones and 'replacement' sleeves that would look just like the stock Honda ones...

i've never heard of a 'sleeved' block using the stock aluminum up that far, ****** is definatley not sleeved correctly with a full sleeve. Who sleeved the block?

"Dry sleeve" motor by ImportBuilders
"This is the sleeving style to choose for all motor applications, and for street cars with mild to moderate levels of boost. This sleeve is not as resistant to detonation and tuning problems as the flanged or the Darton, but has a thicker OD overall than both other styles. For example, if your going to boost 15-20 PSI and you are using pump gas and there is a chance you could detonate the motor, you want to step up to the flanged or the Darton mid. This style of sleeve has run 9's all motor, and has run 8's under boost. I have been on the dyno personally doing 40 PSI on these, its very strong.
OD THICKNESS:
B series: 89.5 MM"

the inner sleeve looks totally fine to me. the sleeve job was done by race engineering from what my friend told me (block came in the car i bought from him)

i've cracked a sleeve on my LS-T and it was A LOT nastier... there wasn't any inner sleeve that held up. it just blew straight through.

meh not really. i sold the shell a week or two ago and i've parted out most of the setup. the block/head/tranny and a few other accessories are the only thing left

yeah but i'm also willing to be that piece hanging off may cause the gasket to blow again from once it sees any vibrations from the motor running, etc.
