Default Cant get front LCA's off..

Okay, I looked and havent found anything as far as the question i'm about to post but if somebody else has posted it before feel free to redirect me.

My problem is I cant get the front lower control arms off.. first i got the bolts lose by a shop dont have any air tools or good tools at all, got home started losing up all the bolts and the inner bolt for the lower control arm that goes to the rear cross member is stuck, not the bolt it self but the metal sleeve in the bushing seized onto the bolt and now obvoiusly it wont come off , im guessing my best bet is to cut it off, but was up for suggestions so thats why am posting.. any HELP? Also if anybody know's any place i can take the lower control arms to get the old bushings pressed out at a reasonable price...instead of me hacking the bushings then cutting the metal sleeve (its alot of work).

Thanks ahead of time for the help.
Alex

maybe you could put the nut halfway on and persuade it to come out with a bfh.

PB Blaster. Spray that stuff in towards your offending bolt. Be sure to do it in a ventilated area, i'm sure this stuff causes cancer. Smells absolutely nasty chemicalish too.

Wait a while. Go read SuperStreet or Import Tuner for a little while.

Come back, Use a large wrench that's long so you can get some leverage.

FYI, if you decide to murder the bolt, prepare for an easy $10 from Honda with shipping. That's a major suspension component, so I do NOT advice Ace Hardware bolts.

I also advise investing in a decent set of airtools if you decide to keep up with the scene. Don't go to pepboys and buy that coleman crap. Get a decent compressor package. Start off with a quality 1/2" drive air wrench, then build on.

Just my .02 cents.

Best of luck!

I had the same problem you can loosen the bolt and it will spread the outside metal (on the crossmember) out enough to get a sawzall in there to cut it out then get new bushings pressed in. and if you can get the right size you can use ACE Hardware bolts just make sure they say grade 8 or grade 10.9 if its made overseas, they are of the same strength as honda bolts for less than 1/2 the price
