Default harness question -takata short version

had a question about the takata short version and having a b pillar bar
is the takata supposed to be very short [shorter then usual] because i only looped it around the bar once. also are there diff eyebolts for diff cars ? ? can anyone post set ups of short version takatas and bars?

edit
where do they eyebolts go? is it the bolts behind the seats?

you can get the eye bolts from HomeDepot..just get the right thread pattern.
they are not supposed to be hooked up to a B pillar bar for safety reasons. they should be attatched to a roll bar harness bar or cage harness bar

I wouldnt wear the harnesses until you get a rollbar.

Just use the normal seatbelt by itself.

take out your back seats, take out the bolts that hold down the seat belts in the rear, take that bolt to home depot and measure the bolt thread, take that measurement and go find eye bolts

you should be very careful if you plan to use home depot eyebolts.. you have to make sure that they have a certain hardness, because you won't not want them to snap on you in the event of an accident..

wait wait im confused

eyebolts from the rear seat belts?
i have the short version takatas
arent the eyebolts for the piece that goes to the waist? i was thinking they hooked behind the seats to those two bolts that hold the seat in place.

I HAVE the takata eyebolts but they do not fit into those holes so thats why im asking where they really go

they bolt to where your seat belts bolt to.. for my lapbelt, i have one holding the seat belt buckle onto the rail, and the other to the bottom of the seat belt. the one to the bottom of the seat belt is a little tricky, but i used a thick piece of steel (which came with my used takatas) to relocate the eyebolt. the piece of steel is bolted down using the seat belt bolt, and the eyebolt is bolted to the steel piece. sorry it sounds really confusing, but there is no other way to describe this without pictures.

you can kinda see them here..

i already explained it up top...

lapbelts..
one eyebolt replaces the bolt that holds the seat belt buckle to the bracket.
the other eyebolt replaces the bolt that holds the bottom of the seat belt, near the door.

shoulder belts.. (short version meant for use with roll cage/harness bar, or for a convertible.. i.e. S2000)
eyebolts are to be mounted on frame (S2000) or welded to the roll cage/harness bar.

if you wrap them around the bar, you should take off the clip buckle parts, and use slide bars..
