Question on a part for crx?
Hello honda-tech members, I have a 1990 CRX SI I have bought while being in Iraq. I have been searching for a while now with no success and I need your help in finding the name of the part that goes just above the pinstripe on the door, and on the bottom of the window. If anyone knows the part name, and part number, and where to order a new pair for both sides, i would gladly appreciate it. I tried searching for it, and even looked at a website with a blown up picture of honda parts, and the item wasnt even shown! I'm pretty sure u guys know what i am talking about, the part usually fades and chips on most cars. Like I said any help or websites I would really appreciate. Thanks.
Yes! That looks like the part! Do you have a website i can order them from? If not thats ok I will look whenever I have free time again.....Do you think I should get them new or just take the old ones off, shave and respray? Thats only if they are really expensive though.
Those are $46.32 (each!) at http://www.hondapartsdeals.com... click parts, go through the model selection process, then look under body/airconditioning --> side protector
I personally think that's a bit steep, and you might have better luck finding decent ones in a scrap yard. Just be sure you get the same window-type as yours (88-89 vs. 90-91) as I think they are a different size. You'll know the 90-91's by the thicker black plastic side sash between the front and rear windows where the seatbelts are attached to the door instead of the b-pillar.
Mine turned white and got dryed out but weren't cracked too badly. I used "Forever Black" which is a black dye for moldings that you can only order online (just google it up) and it worked fine.
Good luck!
