DC race header exhaust staining my Si
I had some DC race headers installed about a month ago and I was washing my car today and the area right above the tip (aftermarket w/o silencer), is slightly brown and i couldn't get it to wash away with a sponge or with a rag. is there a better soap i can use? wash more frequently? anyone else having this problem?
you have a few options.
1. a dab of rubbing compound.
2. goo gone
3. bumper block off , which mounts to your bumper to block "the black crap"
the civic runs rich STOCK.... i'd only imagine it multiplying with a race header

good ol NHBP.. no worries :D
Yeah rubbing compound is proly your best bet to get it out of the paint. I'm assuming its white. After that, get a block to protect it like type-x said.

I've had mine on for about 2 months now and still haven't had any issues other than an de-fouler snapping off when I went to the track.
There was an issue a while back about the flex pipe cracking, but DC has resolved that issue......I hope.
Im trying to make sure that I don't have a defective header. Right now i'm driving the **** out of my car and i've taken it to the track quite a bit as well which can be pretty stressful for the header. So far so good. No cracked pipe, no leaks!

DO NOT use goo gone it eats clear coat!!!
I did this on my old prelude and spent 3 hours buffing it out!
another idea is to just clear 3m tape the area around the tip

First I have heard of that, but I have never used Goo-Gone myself because spending hours with a claybar on a white car with fragile paint is something that I enjoy.........

what one did u use, i was using the one in the small tin bottle with a little flip spout.
i know they make it in an aerasol can as well as a regular squirt bottle.
maybe i used a more concentrated kind, but it definately fogged up my clear coat.

welp had my first issue. Left the pet store looked at my exhaust and the damn tip feel right off. missing in action laying on the side of some road. i tryed back tracking but didn't see anything. what the hell do I do now???
If there is already oxidation present, goo-gone will fog your finish up. On clean paint it wipes clean. I used to love it, used it for years on all kinds of cars.
