vtec wiring questions

Default vtec wiring questions

i have a jdm d15b non vtec in my 91 hatch right now and i was told to do a mini me with the y8 head but if im converting to vtec what rewiring would i have to do and what all would i need to do for that swap and would it be worth doing that conversion or putting a dohc zc in it help out guys please

yeah did you do the full motor swap or what i just want to do a head but im not sure can i get decent power out of a zc instead vtec

I did a mini-me back in the day and it sucked, not the actual labor but the power. It will cost you as much $$ and time of about a ZC swap. I would put something like a b16 or ls at least though. to do the mini me your gonna need to chip your ecu for vtec or get a p28 then you have to go obd-1 if you go p28 then you need the conversion harness then an adjustable cam gear to relize the full power potential and yada yada yada, save your cash unless you got a good deal on a sohc vtec head. Oh yeah you also need a transmission from a d-series ex or si for the shorter gears casue the dx trans will make a work horse out of your mini-me.
If I was to do it again I would save for somethiing DOHC you'll be happier.
