slicks on stock steel wheels. ?

Default slicks on stock steel wheels. ?

anyone ever put slicks on a pair of stock 14" or 15" steelies ? if so how was the traction and what size did u use

There was a topic a while back and the general rule is for the slick to be 1" wider than the wheel max.

I've seen it done but it's definitely not achieving what it could with proper sized wheels.

i ran 22x8x15 on stk gsr wheels never had issues
consistent 1.7x 60's in heavy *** ek

gsr wheels are prob wider than steel stock rim though arent they? i guess 8" wide is smallest slick they sell that would fit on a stock rim , i dunno

I've run 23x7.5x15 slicks on gsr rims.

Gsr rims are about 6.5 wide (lil wider than steelies..I think). I tried to stay within the 1in wider margin. Worked well enough.

I've seen people put 8's on 15 gsr rims and 15 in steelies before....probably not optimum but it was doable.

Very doable, but not optimal.

We have used 14" steelies with 24.5X8 slicks including the 9.98@149 pass that won NOPI World Finals in 2005.

what about on a 13in steelie cause i have 21x7.5x13 but i duno if they will fit on steelies
