tire hitting fender
i have 96 integra and i just droped my car to the max with the tokico rak502 and i like the car like that. The stock gsr 15" on 60s tires hit on little bumps all over the place. so i want to get rims. min size 16" but im thinking of what combination of rims and tires i should get??

If you want a 16" rim then the best size tire to get is 205/45-16. That wheel and tire combo will actually be 0.9" smaller in diameter then your current 60 series(assuming you are running 195/60-15).

Right now you are running 195/60-15 right?
Just type that in as your stock size and then in tire sizes to compare to type in 205/45-16.
You will find that the 15's you have on there now have a diameter of 24.2" and the 16's will be 23.3"

I dont know what you are talking about. The diameter is measured from the outside of the tire straight across to the opposite outside edge of the tire. So if you stood the tire up on the ground, measure from the ground up and 205/45-16 will be 23.3" from the ground up. The 195/60-15 will be 24.2" from the ground up. The diameter=overall height.
Width is a non issue here.

The reason your tires are hitting the fender is because you are using 195/60-15 tires that are 3.3 percent bigger in diameter than stock size. (You only said it's a 60 aspect ratio, and didn't specify the treadwidth; if you mean 205/60-15, it's even worse.)
Have you tried using 195/55-15 (stock size) or 205/50-15 (1.6 percent smaller diameter than stock)? Both these sizes shouldn't rub.
If you get the 16" wheels anyway, ac_attak is correct; 205/45-16 is the best size to get.

I would avoid thinking only in terms of the aspect ratio, because that's only part of the equation (the treadwidth and wheel diameter are the other parts). Look at the entire size and its calculated outer diameter. If the diameter is no larger than stock, you will probably be fine, even on a lowered car. If it's larger than stock - and especially if it's more than 1 percent larger than stock - you're asking for problems, particularly on a lowered car.

thank for the help guys tomorrow im going to go get two used 205/50-15 or 205/40-15 to see if that solves the problem, if it does then i'll go head and get me some rims.
another thing i wanted to ask, for people that have 16"x 6.5 or 16" x 6.5 or 17" rims, do people with 16" c 6.5 rims find it harder to find high performance tires, i was having trouble find semi slicks for 16" x 6.5????

DO NOT use 205/40-15!! (does that size even exist?) That's much much too small for the car.
Most aftermarket 16" wheels are 7" wide. There is a pretty large selection of tires available in size 205/45-16, which is perfect for a 16x7 wheel.

inside the door theres the lil sticker with the info, it says that the recommended tire size is 195/60..
but i use 195/55

what year car are you refering to? ive never heard of a dc with 15" wheels having a 195/60R-15 from the factory.

had the same problem with mine. I had 195/60/15's with illumnia coilovers. Rubbed all the time. I got a set of Circuit 8's with 205/45/16's on it now. I still have rubbing but VERY rarely.
