Default Quick rear wheel bearing question

Hey guys I have removed all the suspension and brake parts off my 96 Integra RS. I pulled the rear hub/bearing assembly off the car to remove the dust shield. When I closely inspected the bearings the center races seemed to have play in them, and of the 2 races both of the inner races seemed much harder to turn than the outer races. The shafts have no scares so I assume they are ok. The local Autozone has a set on order for me so I will be replacing them but I just wanted to know how common this and how often this should be checked???

Oh yeah those tiny *** rear calipers are expensive as ****!!!!!
