Default Mugen rear sway bar (26mm)???

Yes, I did a search, and I couldnt find anything. I would like to get the Mugen 26mm rear sway bar for my GSR...my question is, am I gonna have to upgrade to the ITR rear lower control arms, or is there someone out there who makes a bolt-on kit to use larger sway bars on the GSR?? I know that the ITRs are designed to handle a larger rear bar, but I was hoping that I wouldnt have to change the rear LCAs (I really dont wanna have to buy new shocks again). Does anyone know the deal with this, or give me any help?

26mm seems a little overkill..

Then go for it.

How much for the Mugen bar? An arm and a leg? Or just an arm?

Why not just get their 24mm swaybar designed for non-Type R's? It should be PLENTY of swaybar for you.

Yes, but the 26mm is for the Type-R. Mugen only makes a 24mm for the GS-R and it cost $425 ( http://www.kingmotorsports.com/produ...uspension.html ). I would either recommend the USDM Type-R 22mm rear swaybar (~$57) or the JDM Type-R 23mm rear swaybar (~$90-$110). BTW, the 22mm increases the torsional rate by 720% over the stock rear sway bar. The 23mm increases the torsional rate by 880% over the stock rear sway bar. So, I wouldn't recommend going over 23mm for a car driven on the street. The 26mm Mugen rear swaybar is primarily meant for use on track cars with stiffer spring rates and/or the addition of their 26mm front swaybar.

Wouldn't the 26mm be alright with your mounting kit or even the Beaks kit? Isn't the reason that the 26mm is listed for the ITR is b/c of its reinforcement of the subframe?

More than likely the 26mm could be mounted to a non-Type-R Integra with my BSQ Type-R rear swaybar mounting/reinforcement kit.

My BSQ Type-R rear swaybar mounting/reinforcement kit is $20 shipped. You can go to http://www.geocities.com/bretq/mounting_kit.html for further information and pricing.

what are the chances of a tear-out if you use a type R sway bar in a rs, without the reinforcement kit?

depends on how you drive and what rear spring rates you run , just get the kit or make your own
thats an EXPENSIVE fix if you do get tearout , i'd rather have peace of mind and not worry about it

You basically cannot mount the Type-R rear swaybar properly on a non-Type-R G3 Integra without a mounting/reinforcement kit. The reason being, is because the subframe is not flat (see diagram below) and the mounting/reinforcement kit provides a flat surface for the swaybar bushings and bushing brackets to mount to. The kit also reinforces the subframe sheetmetal.

You can get the 22mm one from www.acuraautomotiveparts.net

That is where I found to be cheapest. If you are going to mount this bar, go to BSQ's site and read up on all the parts and steps.

Edit: Made it a link for those lazy people.

So you would feel a big difference between a jdm and usdm rear sway bar?

I believe you can mount the RSB with or without the new suspension. Its independant.
