Default Short Shifter

I need to know which short shifter is best for minimizing height, I'm too interested in the throw..

It's for a EK civic and I'd appreciate some input.

Minimizing hight = Further away from steering wheel = stupid and slow...

If you want a great shifter with shorter throw, I recommend the Skunk2 Dual bend.

if you want the LOWEST shifter, get a TWM stage 2.

i was just about to say that. they advertise stage 2 as a 3" height reduction.

thats how i have mine done...except i cut the thread off, so i dont have to rethread it, and cut about 2 inches off after the thread and welded it. both skunk2 single/dual bend sucks, i've tried both, they **** up your syncro. i had both, and i have never grinded a gear or had trouble getting into a gear, and now that i have my stock shifter back on, i grind 2nd now and then. PISSED.

How can a short shifter mess up your syncros? You're just shortening the throw.

They can't. It's the retarded people using them and jamming them into gear.

your tranny is what controls how fast you can shift without ******* up synchros. short shifters just make you think you can shift faster, so retards start slamming gears then come waste bandwidth on h-t asking why their tranny grinds.

k, have fun. i've tried a variety of short shifters, im back to my stock shifter. you feel a huge difference, and you get a smoother transition into all gears. no matter how slow or hard u shift.

but thats just me, may be a different experience for you.

I've got the Skunk2 Single Bend and Skunk2 weighted shift **** + Energy Suspension Shifter bushings. This thing feels super solid and each shift feels crisp. The only time that I grind my gears is when I f*#k up and try to act all fast n' furious.

Keep in mind that shortening the shifter length means an increase in force to move your shift linkage and ultimately your transmission. The throw is shorter but will require more force.

Short shifter threads are on here too frequently, might as well start a sticky post on those "which are the best but which is the shortest???" I'll admit I was happier with my stock one, i'm rockin a single bend Skunk2 shifter.

They work, just be careful not to shift too hard or it will snap.
