Default Those with Skunk2 manifolds...

I've got a question regarding VTEC engagement with the Skunk manifold. Since the new manifold eliminates the dual runner setup with the stock GS-R mani, what do you do for VTEC? Do you leave it engaing at 4500rpm? I'd be running this with no VTEC controller, so I'd have to leave it at the stock X-over, will that run ok or do you notice a drastic loss of torque with the big lobes taking over so soon without the aid of long runners?

Or on the flip side, are the small lobes of the P72 enough to support power up to 5.5-5.6k like the other B motors?

it really depends on your setup, ie high compression, lower compression, turbo, what cams you are runningblah blah. Typically you set the xover higher. I will tell you this you will get a nice fat midrange pick up with the manifold, it is engineered right. Gotta love skunk2

If your putting it on basically a stock engine you will not experience the gains until way up.

do not get a type r ecu. a 5700 engagement with stock cams is WAY too high. Just leave vtec as is with gsr cams.
