n00b needs your guidance...
Hey all,
Ive been looking very seriously at the S2k. I have found an 05 with 4500 miles on it going for what i consider a good deal. The only problem is the car is "molested" it has an exhaust and a carbon fiber hood, looks like a used car dealer got a hold of the car, maybe a repo?
Either way, would you consider an s2k that has mods like that? I ask only b/c i hear there are problems with the trannys and also concerned that the mods may void factory warranty.
Please let me know, it looks nice and is a great deal. Oh and if anyone has a free carfax acct please let me know i dont want to trust the dealers word.
Thanks for your time

If its a private seller or private used car lot, ask to take the car to honda. Make an appointment to do a prebuy inspection with compression check. They'll thoroughly go over the car. I know its not a 100% but they should be able to tell you enough.

But do take it to a Honda dealership for a PPI.</TD></TR></TABLE>

There are so many of these cars that were used as weekend cruisers by older yuppies(not trying to offend anyone). Why not just look for one that was a traded in 3rd or 4th car that had every service done on-time and hardly saw the light of day. There are plenty of them for sale.
Or look for a yellow one that some dude's wife forced him to sell right away.
