i have a 1997 honda civic ex 1.6 sohc vtec 127hp everything stock but header and short ram intake running DC sport headersand injen intake is the anything i can do to my engine internals i will appriciate any suggestion

Externally, hell ya, turbo that bish.

 

how much hp would it lift to i looked at greddy its say 200from 106 for a 1997 honda ex but mine is 127 every where i look for parts is 4 non vtec engine but mines is a vtec any websites for parts

 

seems like bolt ons wont do much (not cost effective unless you got deep pockets) for sohc d-series

turbo is more cost effective, as a well pieced together kit can run you roughly a grand or so, and put you at maybe 200 hp at the wheels (EX)?

You can use the Greddy Kit from the 92-95 Civic. It definitely won't get you to 200whp though. More like 150 at stock boost. It is a fun little turbo and would be a simple install. The D16Y8 needs less timing than the D16Z6 though so if you do install this kit, take the distributor back about 6 degrees to be safe.

A kit pieced together would get you more power (properly tuned of course) and save you money because you would do the work yourself (fitting the charge pipes, downpipe, etc.).


if you are somewhat mechanically inclined then piece together a kit. It's fun and you will be happier with the results.
