Rear Crossmember
What's up guys, well today I went to get my car alligned but when the tech was checking my car out from the bottom he said it was best if I replace my rear crossmember first, because it was damaged pretty bad. The crossmember has a crack that makes my car steer to the right, but anyway my question is, can I weld this or should I just replace it?
if its damaged that bad, i would just replace it. My buddy picked one up from a junkyard for 14 bucks, so if you could get a good replacement for cheap, may as well. But i dont see why you couldnt weld it.
I was looking into just welding it so that I wouldn't have to go thru all that pain of uninstalling and reinstalling parts since I haven't done this before....how hard is it?
I have a service manual handy so that will make it a lil' eazy.

so I began taking off the crossmember but now i'm stuck...the Rack/pinon is being a PITA
...does anybody know how to take this off I only need to take it off from the part where it conects to the firewall/steering....my manual is missing some pages and this is one of them.
thanks for any advice.

go under the dash and remove the steering column cover. i remember seeing two bolts with painted heads. you'll want to remove the lower one, closest to the firewall.
