Default B16 Mugen Valve Cover

I have a '90 CRX with '00 JDM B16A2 motor, YS1 cable tranny. Have big plans for this car and spending a lot of my hard-earned cash on it. Just wondering if anyone here has or knows someone who has the Mugen magnesium valve cover for the B16. Is it worth $1000? Would appreciate any input.

in my opinion, mugen valve covers are for gaying up your engine bay..

it's not worth it coz it cost too much and you have an existing valve cover, so why change it.. just burn the money on something else..

its definitely not worth $1,000

its worth used about $500 $650 if your lucky.

the paint does flake off after awhile aswell.

stick with oem and spend the $ money on go fast parts..

eitherway good luck

$1000 for ANY valve cover isn't worth it.
Hell, I think the $150 you can pick up an OEM one for is a damn rip off.

I figured it was mostly for looks. I read somewhere the magnesium/titanium-coated valve cover is used in F1 cars but maybe that was just marketing BS.

Btw, if anybody can point me toward any sites selling carbon fiber valve covers for B16 I'd appreciate it. I found one site that *was* selling them, but claims that the product has been discontinued.

They'd be using it for weight savings. You don't drive an F1 car.

Shoot, I have spent a couple thousand dollars on weight reductions already. But I think you are right about the valve cover, saving half a pound or so probably isn't doing enough to justify $1000 by itself.

Take a big **** before you go to the track. You'll be on equal level as the idiot that spent $1000 on a mugen valve cover, but you'll have more cash than him.

Maybe spending $300 on a treadmill would be better price/performance wise?

$75 on a decent pair of running shoes, $50 MP3 player and you're all set to go running at your local school track.
I just saved you another $200.

::Edit::
You just hit your 5 post limit. No more posts from you tonight. I'm going to bed anyway. Shoot me a PM tomorrow and I'll send you an address you can use to paypal me some of that money I just saved you.
