Default Removing stock valve cover breather - Answering my own question

A few days ago I created this post...

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1815568

...asking about the removal of the stock valve cover breather. It doesn't have to be cut off. I was able to remove this fitting on a spare valve cover with some vise grips. I had planned to drill and tap for a 1/4" NPT fitting, but there's aluminum that goes about 3cm back from the opening. The diameter seems perfect for 1/8" NPT without having to drill. What surprised me is the length of the stock tube. Pics are below.

Wow, thats alot longer then I would have thought. I did this same thing on my ITR intake manifold. I ripped out 2 vacuum ports out with pliers without too much hassle, and taped one for 1/8" npt and another for 1/4" npt. perfect :D

What are you using this for?

This isnt a good place for a catch can setup, but i think you already knew that.

From what I remember, a 1/8 npt is smaller than the OEM Honda PCV tube. I welded the hole shut and had a 1/2npt bung welded on to the SIDE of the valve cover.

If anyone needs bungs to do this, lmk.

I know 1/8" NPT is small. I have some extra -6an hose ends that I'm not going to use, so I decided to do this. I'm having 2 -10an bungs welded on the front of the valve cover, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered doing this. By the way, the inside diameter of the tube that was removed is slightly more than 6mm. The inside diameter of the -6an hose ends I have are 7mm. Why would you guys weld this hole shut?

Its the stock PCV system if you hook up a catch can its not needed anymore, all it will do is dirty up your engine bay.
