GSR Edelbrock VictorX Mani. install help
I searched and couldnt find anything helpful so im in need of some help.
My friend has a 96 gsr 4 door and wants to install the eldelbrock victorx mani he bought a while back. His friend owns a shop and told him he needs to make him a bracket for the map sensor to work correctly on the eldelbrock mani. is there any truth to this?
What in all will i have to do to properly install the Mani on his gsr. His friend is being a d*ck so he doesnt want to take his car there to get it done.
any help is really appriciated.

Your friend's friend is not very informative.
That manifold is 99% bolt-on. The only thing you might need is a longer piece of hose for the return fuel line since you have to flip the fuel pressure regulator upside-down.
Also what Kirk said is true.
thank you both for taking the time to try and help me out.
The sensor i am talking about though, my friend told me is mounted on top of the stock gsr manifold on the runners. i have not seen the sensor so i am not sure if it is the map sensor for sure, thats what my friend told me.
Kirk- you do make sense, so im thinking its another sensor.
I hope im making sense

Well sometimes the IAT sensor (Intake Temp Sensor) wires need to be extended.
No bracket needs to be made though.

OK. Sounds good. i might take a look at my friends car tomorrow and figure this out. if anything i hope you can still help me if i got a question.

it's pretty self explanitory really. everything is gonna bolt up. make sure he gets a new throttle body gasket and intake manifold gasket (might as well get a hondata style one). the victor x manifold is designed for boost, hopefully your friend is going turbo
anyways:

(left to right)
1.down to that small black cannister below battery
2.plugged
3.BOV
4.break booster
5.wastgate
6.plugged
7.plugged
8.FPR/boost gauge

yeah, if he wants to run it the proper way. tell him to get a ITR throttle cable, ITR throttle cable bracket, and a non-gsr throttle body pulley. this will allow him to run it like itr/b16's do. some people still run the gsr way, it's a preference thing i guess.
also a p28 would be a nice option. (have him get it chipped with some kind of basemap to match his current setup.)
btw, it's gonna suck if he's gonna be installing this while the motor is in the car. lol you need some jdm hands
lol

He also has the matching TB from edelbrock what matches the inlet port on the IM. can he still use the stock gsr throtle cable and bracket and work properly? or does he have to switch to the ITR/b16 setup?
I will be doing the install and thats why im asking all this questions. I know its going to suck but it will get done. lol
thanx again

Whats a throttly body pulley?
I think you mean the throttle plate rotor...atleast I hope so, if not, where the hell is YOUR throttle body mounted?

sorry for the late reply. i forgot to check this thread again. lol anyways, if you're gonna use the edelbrock (65mm i believe) throttle body, usually it comes with a new tb pulley right? if it does, you will need the itr cable style setup.... or reuse the gsr tb pulley to retain the gsr tb cable setup. hope you get the idea. it's just because the tb pulley designs are different. take a look here:
here is a how to install: http://technet.ff-squad.com/how-to/sk2im/
it's talkin about installing a skunk2 IM, but it's the same procedure obviously. lol

what do u mean where is it mounted to? the throttle body is mounted to the intake manifold. not on the plate rotor or the pulley.
what i was referring to as the throttle body pulley is pictured above. hope that answers your question.
