I think he's somehow confused with the coolant lines lol.

But looks great tho! Do you prep the els/tubing for welding at all? It seems like the pipe hasn't been touched, although I like the rough fabricated look though.

yeah I sandblast all the pipes before welding. In the pics the pipes haven't been wiped off.

Ahh right on. It doesn't leave like microscopic particles of sand, that could contaminate the weld? I've always wondered about that.

It does if you don't clean it really well and I also go back over the beveled edges with a flap disc.

Also the manifold was back purged so not too worried about needed bracing..

angry much? bracing is ALWAYS a good idea, regardless of how well those welds were made.

Depends on the material. Sch10-40, if it's welded properly is extreemly strong and shouldn't require bracing. This is WHY most sch manifold makers can sell them with a life-time warranty.

However, a 16ga manifold will most of the time require bracing. Turbo'd cart series cars are a good example of this.

Yes, hell I was told never to use a wire wheel either because little particles could break off and containment the weld.

Same here, but only with mild steel wheels. I use SS wheels just for this reason. I'm not sure if it makes a difference at all though...
