kirkey mounting?
yea his seat mounts are really nice but look like alot of time to fabricate does anybody else have pics of some other brackets that might be alot easier?
I would really like to be able to not have to weld to the car or the cage incase i ever i want to put different seats in i dont have to cut everything out. Has anybody ever made brackets that bolted to stock location and passed tech?

never thought about that, i guess you never had any problems in tech and the sliders still worked because that would be nice, so my fiance can drive it sometimes since shes helping fund the project and even giving me the block and trans out of her gsr.

yep, I built a bolt in bracket that mounted to the stock floor bolts, then bolted the seat to it.
passed tech just fine.
I am selling the seat and bracket.... btw.

you should be able to run a 17"er... its alittle big but does the job depends on how big/small you are. if your looking to have adjustablity use the sparco or get some generic sliders from tenzo or apc some crap like that would work. other then that, if you can keep them sationary, weld them in its the only way togo.
p.s. i know they hurt when you crash..lol okay i think thats the only down fall they dont take up alot of room plus there pretty light

yea a 17" should be plenty im not a big guy about 5,11 165pnds and i really like how your brackets are setup and ive seen a couple pics of them but do you have any pics of them without the seats bolted down, just the brackets welded to the cage only, and you welded 2 bars across from the rockers to the exhaust tunnel to help support the seat bottoms didnt you?
and you didnt wreck the dc did you?
Thanks,
Dustin

no it hasnt gotten in a wreck (knock on wood...) lol
it was a inside joke !
yeah what we did was weld a sill bar and then 2 kickers across the floor to give the chassis a more rigid floor pan there, ive seen in fwd cars that they tend to have stresses in the middle of the car when not properly caged, weld the cage to the door sills!! and renforced with 1/4 plates to the tunnel, front and back
p.s. you dont have to go so extreme as i did and dont even need the sill bars there. you can just make a craddle for the seat and weld to the cage door bar and rear cross section. i just wig out on all my stuff,
