2000 GSR red, 60k, rebuilt title... whats it worth?
Red integra GSR.
***NYS REBUILT/SALVAGE title***
61k miles
rear bumper is flaking paint
trunk lid doesnt latch shut (is this an easy fix)
It has a required maintenance light one (whats that about?)
Needs tires
and a good buffing
Brand new pads and rotors
thanks in advance

1. why did it have a rebuilt title? this is normally issued due to either damage in excess of 70% of the value of the car OR in some states slavage titles are given to vehicles that are theft recoveries. knowing why it had the salvage title is a good starting point.
2. having the rebuilt title means the vehicle passed a rigorous full inspection. in wisconsin, our "checklist" used in the inspection is 7 pages long. go to the NY DOT website and see if you can find the checklist they use, this will tell you everything that was inspected and passed in order to receive a rebuilt title, which means the cars is 100% safe to drive on the road.
3. latch is an easy fix...probably the cable cut or snapped..just get a new cable and run it to the back, link it up to the latch assembly
4.maintenence light is just a light that pops on in timed intervals to get you to bring the car to the dealer for regularly scheduled maintenance ( no more than a hassle, turn it off by pushing the button under the column to the right of the steering wheel)
4. what do THEY want for it? can you post some pics, etc of it? the more info you have the better, and the more info you give us the more accurate the price IN OUR OPINIONS the car is worth.

pics are coming... interior is mint... exterior could be a little cleaner... no rust.. the exhaust kinda pops.. like a puff noise.. but the motor sounds solid.. no knocks or ticks... mileage is 51k on title and 61k on car.. so i kinda believe the mileage on the motor... car also has a v2 intake (or something like that)
looks decent enough for 4000... i would offer 3500 cash
but do you know WHY it was salvaged? was it in an accident, flood damaged, theft recovery, etc?? if it was just a atheft recovery then 3500 would be a steal IMO...

engine looks like it has no leaks from the gasket or cam plug. looks pretty decent, but to be safe i would run a compression/leak down test before i even buy the car. last thing you need is blue smoke or white smoke coming out your exhaust after you buy it.
i didnt see any smoke at all.. it ran in idle for 30 minutes on 2 occassions and once at op. temp i reved to 5k, no smoke.... seemed to be solid... still havent moved it more than 10 feet though....
LOL i found it hilarious that you offered 1000 for a salvaged gsr, you got ***** man
Pick that thing up for 4000, but before that offer 3500 and see if he'll go for it.

4k is not a bad price for a 00 gsr. I don't like rebuilt title cars also, but still you can't get a good legit complete GSR swap for around 2k. U should offer the guy like 3.5k, mostlikely if he need money he will take it.

like i said originally: offer him somewhere around $3500...obviously it passed state inspection so it should be safe to drive on the road....you can't just pound out a frame and call it a day, when they do those inspections they check for structural integrity and so forth....so if the car is safe enough to drive on the road according to the state of NY, it's safe enough for me....hell, if you don't buy it i'll come in from milwaukee to pick it up
