Metallic Grinding Sound?
Just noticed this today when I was driving home, but i have a metallic grinding sound coming from the front drivers side of the car. I thought at first it was my brakes and maybe something was sticking but I isolated it to when i go over large bumps at a speed or when i'm braking when moving downhill. I pulled my front drivers side wheel off when I got home and the brakes looked fine, but I found this:

Question is, would this cause my grinding sound and what do I do I need to replace to fix it?
Thanks.

possibly but i think its brakes, check out the dust shield and see if its scraping or check the pads to see how much life is left, get some of that anti-sqeek lubricant and maybe that will fix the brakes if the pads are still good
Thanks for your thoughts so far. I visually checked the brakes and it didn't look like anything was in there, I did them less then a year ago, so the pad thickness looked alright. I didn't think to check to see if the dust shield was moving...maybe I'll have to pull everything apart. The boot isn't ripped in the middle, it's just like the end of it is no longer attached to anything, what usually holds it on?
well you could try using those pipe fitting, you know the ones with the screw on them and as you screw they get tighter ?
