Default Excessive carbon build-up on exuast side of head. why?

What exactly causes carbon build up on the exuast side of the head? the compresoin is good on the motor.

well polishing the exhaust side would reduce but unless its Excessive carbon build up , u dont have to worry. but thats caused by running rich

yeh, i understand too, i was running so rich on my turbo car, if u would stand behind the exhaust, it would burn your eyes, when i took off the turbo headers, there was a thick layer of carbon and when i went to clean it off, it was like saw dust, but well if ur really worried about it, get a afr gauge or so, or just tune it
