Default boosted fit?

Alright guys, I noticed that JR is coming out with their rotrex kit for 10psi on the fit.

Has anyone truely maxed out the stock fit motor yet? I haven't seen any turbo kits yet (im mostly talking custom kits). I am highly thinking of turbo-charging my fit once its shipped in from the dealer. I have built numerous kits before, just none for the fit. Any ideas? I know its going to be a custom manifold, using a precision 350hp intercooler, and a precision GT28RS turbo. The problems i am seeing before starting all this will be fuel and management. I'm used to using dsm 450 injectors or precision injectors. What clips does the fit use? OBD2b? fuel pump will be another concern of mine, hopefully its similar to EG/EK/DC that can support boost on the factory pump.

then comes a next question, is there any aftermarket cluch kits yet? I looked on a couple websites and didnt see any offered for the fit.

Thanks.

The motor has been boosted overseas for some time, but don't expect a LOT of power out of it. The offset rod angle is my biggest concern, as it stresses the crank and rod in a very strange way. If you want to blow up a 15K$ car fresh from the factory, go ahead. As far as clutches, there aren't any available stateside, although for enough $, you could get one from japan special made for the Fit.

Your other option would be to swap in a K-series, and turbo that, but thats a ton of work, and requires bashing the firewall for clearance.

Not true. Cusco makes LSD's for our cars ( I believe KAAZ does too). Their are also a number of reputable manufactures overseas that make clutch kits for our cars (which supposedly are direct replacement).

well theres a big difference in 2k for a turbo kit or a kseries turbo which is going to rack up what, 8-10k? motor, mounts, etc. i was looking for something around a GT28RS on 10psi. I mean the hotrex kit is using 10psi, but obviously there "should" be more power and torque out of a turbo kit.

He's asking about clutch kits, not LSD!!!

My .02pennies, I would wait for someone to come out with a turbo kit. I wouldn't piece one together from scratch. True, you save a lot of money, but this L series motor is a bit tricky. Just like the other guy said the rods, are slightly offset with the crank. I wouldn't risk blowing up a brand new car.

I would definitely do it wih and older D-Series motor.

I believe type 1 r is working on a prototype turbo kit, right now. Check out fitfreak.net

Good luck because in the end it's your car and money

There is also a 5 psi kit coming out as well from JR, should be less stressful than a 10 psi kit.

well i see no difference as far a bought kit and a made kit. It isnt a junkyard kit thrown together, top notch parts. Im just curious as to how much power the bottom end would hold. Then again, its a new motor so im sure no one has maxed it out yet. I might have to be the first one to find out (hell, someone had to find out how far a stock D-series could go.)

I will probably wait until I have enough money on tap for a k-series, so when the motor blows im not completely stuck.

90 DALS so many plans and so many questions maybe you should save your money and get a FIT before working out your plans for a K change.

K-series swaps aren't going to be a viable option for anyone but shops for a few years. I'm so sick of reading about all these dudes saying they're going to do it--they won't.

Not too many people are going to buy a 0 mile Fit and put an old $6K-&7K engine into it.

you're right, I can only think of 1 person off the top of my head that is certain to put a K into his Fit...and he'll be doing the Jackson Racing Supercharger install into my car.
