i don't know how to read a dam torque wrench.
i just got one last night and was wondering how to read it?? i've read the instructions but it didn't help.
Example taken from HONDA service manuel 24N.M (17lbt.ft) if i remember it right.
my torque wrench has INCH-POUND AND NEWTON-METER. also a pic would help 2
sorry guys im stupid
thanks

the 24 N.M is 24 Newton Meters, so you can use that measurement wthout a problem.
12 inch-lbs = 1 ft-lb
So, 17 ft-lbs = 204 in-lbs
When you adjust the torque wrench (by twisting the handle) these measurements should be equal. In other words, 24 N-M = 204 in-lb.
When tightening the bolt, you apply pressure on the torque wrench until you feel a solid click, then you stop.

thanks floyd.
yeah that's what i did, i used N.M but my torque wrench only go up to 23.95 N.M or if i twist a setting higher it would be over 24 N.M
i think my wrench is -4%
>_<

You may need another torque wrench with a higher capacity to do things like wheel lug nuts (80 ft-lbs or 960 in-lbs )
yeah i'll get one soon.
thanks
