Default To all the peeps that have put power windows into eg!

I seriously have been searching for awile now... so I tried.

Ok, my girlfriend smashed her 94 civic ex (that i bought her) into a cop car, I have a 93 hatch so i was like, "hey, this cant be too hard to do, lets put these power windows and locks into my hatch, this **** cant be hard!!"

So far I have gotten both of the doors completely finished, have the power everything in there and it should all work.

Basically, I'm stuck with this floor harness thing....
Is it just me or must you take out all of the AC stuff to get to it?
and this harness is attatched to the fuse box in the engine bay isnt it?

Would it be cosidered ghetto to wire your own wires just to the passenger door? I would hate to do that because I really like to keep me stuff all stock.

So far I have all of the stuff in the pic here https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1065575&page=1

One last thing, I cant unhook my ac, it blows cold and its still R12, I REALLY don't want to risk never haveing that **** blow cold again.

what do you guys think?

Take out the EX wiring harness and pull only the wires pertaining to the doors. I would shield the speaker wires with aluminum foil and the tape it (I made the mistake of not doing that and got electrical noise when I roll the window up and down). Repin your speaker wires at the fuse box or just cut and splice. Then tape up the whole wiring and zip tie it along your floor/firewall harness and there you go. Plug in the molex to your factory fuse box add fuses and relay. Done.

You have to change the entire car harness except the rear body harness if you want it to be all stock and not have to run any of your own wiring.

^^What he said. We just did our own wiring when we did this to an ef, its not easy changing the harness unless you're stripping the car....

Damn this is a pain in the ***, I'm using civic2slo's idea right now, which is to take the passenger side wires out of the floor harness and put those stock wires into my car. so far I've been working from the passenger side to the fuse box and I've gotten to the steering column...

I might have not done this if i knew how difficult/annoying/time consuming this was.

I do appreciate the feedback

Don't forget to use the drivers side wire too. Its actually easier if you take the whole wiring harness out of the wrecked EX then take the harness apart.

Thats exactly what I did. I just completed the swap, currently 1:56 am, power windows and locks working perfectly thanks for the help again!

To those that want to do this, https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1065575&page=1
as well as http://repo.jackmoves.com/v/er...age=2
are fantastic places to start gathering info. If you want to do it the right way (imo) you need to take the passenger door wires out of the floor harness too, so you can use ALL uncut, stock wires. I dont think I will have a problem with reliability that way.

Glad I can help to a person from my experiences. Plus you have the reliability of basically stock wiring and if you have issues you can just check for blowned fuses at the fuse block. Did you also add the power mirrors?
