There is really dark black smoke coming from the exhaust. Im hoping it is just running rich and will be an easy fix. You can see oil spots on your hand if you hold it in front of the tail pipe. What are some of the problems it could be? Also it pops and kind of sputters when held at a steady RPM.

 

what ecu? black smutt is usually fuel

Hard to tell, my car has always had a fuel smell. It not too strong.

 

any codes?

 

throwing a code 7 (TAS) and a code 10 (IAT). I have not tried to fix them yet, im not sure what i need to do to go about that.

 

There's your answer...The tps and the iat sensor are very important..

 

Any ideas on what i should do first to fix it?

 

with the tps ,,hook up a volt meter between the yellow/white and green/white wires ,,put the key in the ignition,turn to the on position but dont dont start the engine,,the voltage at WOT should be around .5 volts..

im not sure for the iat sensor,i would assume you have to check the voltage also and i think it should be around ~2.5-~4 volts while cold

edit,,actually before you even do this **** make sure its all hooked up right.
