will cutting a hole in frame weaken car (91 crx)
its hard to explain what im gonna do but im runnin a straight 5" down pipe out the side of my turbo and i wanna extend it right out of the driver side fender/bumper but the frame is in the way . right where the washer bottle sits that part. i dont wanna cut the frame off but i wanna make a 6" or so hole in it for the pipe to go through and out of the car .. will this weaken it? the outer part of frame is still gonna be there just gonna have a hole in the middle of it.? on a crx
basically i wanna extend the pipe u see in the pic all the way out of the car . but the center of the frame is in the way.

yes, it will weaken it. i just notched mine a bit to access the crank pulley, and from launches and traction bars, i bent my frame rail
did u notch it from the center of it without cutting the top or bottom of it or did u just cut out from the bottom or something?
that may be why. im thinkin of cutting between the bottom and top . almost like cutting a circle hole out of a wall kinda thing.. the outer frame is still there but inside loses about 6" circle.. i dunno. i dont wanna do it then launch and bend my frame though.. only other option is to enlarge the hole where the washer fluid contianer goes to about 6" around and run the pipe out and down through there but i dunno .

ha its a 5" open DP ... but i just decided to vent it right to the ground. hopefully i dont get too much fumes in the car.. it dont seem like it so far.
I'm not sure if you will see significant difference by going through all the trouble of running a 5" dump on a greddy setup. I say just use 2.5"-3" pipe and save the trouble of cutting up the frame.
