Default SPFWD Does Not Allow Glass Sunroof?

Well I read the rules for 07 which are basically the same with some changes but nowhere did it say that a glass sunroof is prohibitied!

Reason why I ask is because I just dropped off my car at L-con and he informed me that a glass sunroof is not allowed.

I understand why this might be true but just never seen proof of it yet!

hopefully someone can give me some insight.......

Thanks
Andre

This is the first time i have ever heard of this... The sunroof in our car is OEM glass and we have never had n e problems with tech... I noe there were questions on the carbon fiber insert to eliminate the glass sunroof but never questions about glass....

Ya I told you to take the Sunroof out. There's other ways to get a Tan at the track dood.

But he insisted to keep it on. He said he wanted to work on his brownish glow for when he gets back to work after a race weekend.

Never heard of that rule for SFWD. With the speeds a lot of guys are hitting a glass sunroof doesn't make too much sense but they probably donn't want to force everyone to find another solution since it's already expensive enough. Then again, a shower of glass in a 150mph roll over probably isn't too fun. In NASA road racing you are required to remove and replace it with another material or tape both sides of a glass moonroof before you can run. I know its not the same type of racing but I bet the SFWD guys are hitting higher speeds than road racing Hondas.

I heard about that plug!

But honestly the reason why i bought the si was for the sunroof......

What i was thinking was taking out the glass and putting a piece of fiberglass in thier with the same thickness as the glass!

does the glass come out from the unit or did you just replace the whole unit?

Talk to Kris over there @ L-con. Ask him what him and I (Paul) did with his Gold Civic. He's done it before and it looks tight as hell!

As much as I would love to sell a few more kits I don't want people buying them because of some rumor about sunroofs being prohibited. I read through the rules and see nothing. Click the email link below andd ask NHRA to verify if you're worried about regs.
