IM: JDM vs. USDM
I imported a stock B18B engine from japan back in the spring. I sold the engine and kept the intake manifold for it. The engine was an OBDII setup.
Recently, I bought an OBD1 B18A1 USDM motor, and it (obviously) had an intake manifold on it.
My question is...is there any significant difference that one may be better or work better than the other? The setup is going in my EF, and will be OBD1. Just wondering if there's any difference in the two because the OBDII JDM one has what appears to be alot of vacuum lines on the back of it.
I'll post pictures if needed.
Thanks in advance!

Yeah, I JUST noticed that when I went down there to compare them...is this neccessary for emissions here in the states?
Better yet, is the JDM any better than USDM for any reason? The runners appear to be about the same length. If they perform the same, I'll just stick with the USDM setup...

just stick with the USDM one... IM wise there isnt any diff.. there isnt much difference from JDM to USDM motors except JDM has slightly higher compression pistons
Wouldn't have thought so. Only difference I was considering was the B18B offers 140hp, and the B18A1 (what I currently have) only offer 130hp. Was hoping to see if I could earn a LITTLE gain, LoL.
