Default B20 vtec rebuild

yo i just got a B20 block i'm getting arp head studs and rod bolts with a golden egle vtec convertion kit i am leaven the bottom end stock for now but i want to know what are the best rings and barings for this motor?? Tell me what you think anout the rings and barings and this set up...thanks

who's putting the engine together. you have to be real careful if using the stock bottom end with a vtec head. b20 pistons dont clear the vtec valves much when you start messing around with cams/cam gears.

assembly practices and bearing clearance are more important the brand. acls work good. so does oem but I hear the ls an b20 are two layer versus the dimesionally same b16a bearings which are 3.

Sounds like you have a lot of research to do before tackling the job and buying parts.

is the block even balanced? i mean since your opening up your motor might as well replace all the bearings/seals.

i wouldnt leave stock pistons, go with Oem bearings and rings if you are..
