1988 CRX HF Rear Sway Bar
I have a 1988 CRX HF w/ a B18C5, and intend to road race it. After a lot of searching, it looks like everyone at least agrees on the 22mm ST rear sway bar. The rest I am confused on. I see they have an adapter kit for 1988's, but is this for non-SI's. Tyson mentioned a set of $130 LCA's off of an 89-91 I believe. What all do I need to get here?
The 88 rear lcas have a hole where the swaybar endlink would connect, and thats what the adaptor is for.
If you swap to the 89-91 lca's you'll have to change your rear shocks.

ST bar has a bracket that mounts the the lower shock bolt. Because the 88 is a different LCA and shock is in a different position you will need to replace the LCA and shock to get the ST kit to work out of the box. Now, you could make your own adapter plate too..

Could that be what the 88 Adapter Kit is for? Or is that for something else that differs on the 88 HF's?

yes, thats what an 88 adapter kit is for. hf would be same as DX, theyre all the same except Si which is the only model that has provisions for a bolt in rear swaybar. and the 88 control arm is unique, as explained.
it really doesnt matter that its an hf. just matters that its NOT an Si.
i have seen ppl rig up their own adapter kit for the 88 rear control arms by inserting a sleeve within the box frame of the control arm. if you cant imagine it yourself, then youre better off just getting the adapter kit.

did you just ask if a "ST rear sway bar off of an 88 CRX" will work on a 88 CRX?

As already explained, it depends what rear shocks and RLCA's he was running. If he was running the 89+ type, then you will need to do the same!
