Default NEED HELP ASAP! car is down and have a race in two days!

Ok I just put a d16y8 into my car, the car doesnt have any water leaks from what i can tell and does not overheat(could be just cause its cold outside). The car runs fine pulls through powerband...now to the problem..

When I got home I noticed some smoke coming from under the car, so i go to check it out and there is a oily substance all over the place like it had been shooting out. So I was looking looking and found no leaks! THEN I happened to pull a plug wire out and the are FULL OF OIL!!!! And Im guessing when I go through the RPMs the oil gushes out and squirts everywhere.

Is this blown headgasket for sure? Im kind of hoping that is the problem since I already have a new headgasket here at the house, just didnt want to fix something that wasnt broken.

PLEASE HELP ME OUT ASAP! THANKS IN ADVANCE!

it is not your headgasket, your car would overheat if it was. I would think it has to do with valve seals letting oil leak into the cylinders. Did you notice any blue smoke coming out of the exhaust at all?

I didnt notice any smoke coming out of the exhaust when i was driving it(but it was dark, but still didnt see any smoke in headlights behind me or anything). Although I did notice a certain exhaust smell when vtec kicks in( think this is usually normal)

The oil is not going into the cylinders it is on top of the spark plugs in the tunnel that the wires fit into..think it could possibly just be a bad valve cover??

If you just pulled the wire out and saw oil in there on top of the actual spark plug then it could be two things. The valve cover gasket has 4 grommets in each plug hole to seal off from oil. Remove the valve cover and check and make sure the grommet is there and in place. Then just check the actual spark plug and make sure it's tight.

Thanks, Im beginning to think that it does have something to do with the actual valve cover, because I cant think of anything else. The motor runs perfect and doesnt overheat, there is just oil gushing out of the holes. Ill check the valve cover next...

So im hoping this is not a new engine you are going to be racing. And dont race it unless you fix it, or you'll have it in your sig with dead next to it too.

So there is oil on the top half of the plugs?

Replace the seals on the valve cover.
all of them.
Including the ones by the bolts

Thanks everyone, my buddies swapped out the valve covers(with one that had new seals) and say everything looks to be fine. And no this is not a "new" motor, just new into my car. So now Im off to Miami in about 12 hours or so for my trackday!!
