I am still considering entering back into the honda world after theft of both of my cars a year ago.
Have some questions though. Are RSXs getting stolen as much as type Rs? You guys who have both or sold the R and now have a type S RSX ..... do you enjoy the car? How does is compare to the R?

I can't say i know any real truth to this answer statistically, but the way word travels through the grapevine it would be my guess that the theft between an RSX and ITR are no where near comparible. Its a simple known fact that a large theft risk comes along with an ITR, however i have never heard the same about an RSX.
I had the oppurtunity to drive several RSX-S's and all I can say is the 05-06 were the best ones by far. The handling improved and the power band is smoother and the gearbox clicks into gears better.
But the R>***
both very nice cars, for a DD i might choose the RSX-S

The RSX-S is practical, comfortable, and, performs well. It's not a dedicated racer like the ITR. But the aftermarket support and/or Honda parts bin availability make it an interesting car to own.
So far I've only added a K&N drop-in with a modified airbox and hondata IMG. Although the car appears to be dead stock, it actually runs alot better, and pulls harder than a dead stock one.
The car has a tendency to understeer not found in the ITR, but macpherson struts, all season tires, and, a lack of LSD are the culprits.
The latter two can be added though, along with the a-spec/showa strut combo, and, you'll be more in line with a DC5 R in the handling dept. The shell is already as stiff as the R's so you just have to add OEM upgrades to the car.
My plans for the future include JDM LSD, A spec/Showa spring/strut combo, and, the A spec pads & rotors. And once my all-season Michelins wear out I'll be replacing them with a dedicated summer tire.
Although RSX theft isn't completely unheard of, it seems more common on the west coast than on the east coast. Where K series swaps never picked up steam the way they did out west. (i.e. every single Goddam'n EG in Cali has a K series nowadays)
If you follow the RSX forum here and the RSX boards in general, it seems a lot more RSX-S get stolen on the west coast, just my .02 cents.
The ITR on the other hand, seems to be a global theft target!

I have both cars. 98 ITR and 05 Type S.
RSX Pros:
- Nice straight line acceleration
- Leather, heated seats, bose stereo
- good gas milage
- 6 speed
- handling is overall very good
- Seats are comfy and somewhat supportive
- You get noticed ... sort of.
- Great powerband
- Great dash layout and shifter position
- STEERING WHEEL!! I LOVE IT!!!
RSX Cons:
- Car feels cheap everywhere
- Dashboard rattles (even worse in cold)
- Shifter feel is terrible and imprecise
- No 5-6K VTEC kick in the *** (sorry but I'm oldschool)
- Not even close to the R in the corners
- Terrible stock rubber
- Black paint is brutal to maintain. Scratches easily, seems like there's no clearcoat.
Type R Pros:
- Solid road feel. Feels a lot heavier than it is. Steering feels solid and tight unlike the RSX.
- Great driver position
- Nice seats
- No roll in the corners, bites hard, flies over transitions with no problems.
- Amazing powerband, VTEC at 6K
- LSD
- BRAKES!!!!! My favourite part of the car.
- Styling (CW FTW!)
- Great stock rubber
- Great gas milage
Type R Cons:
- Theft
- Sort of uncomfortable for a daily driver
- Paranoia
- Input Shaft bearing on the tranny wears quickly
That's all I can think of right now.

I have to say that the Type R. Just because there were just so many they made and they are pretty rare. Unlike the RSX you can pick up one at any dealership. Plus most Type R's are either stolen or wrecked.

Both cars understeer with factory suspensions... alot
and 98 ITR -- the itr has body roll...maybe not as much as your standard integra or rsx, but its there...

At one point I had a RSX-S as my daily and my ITR as my project/fun car. My ITR was stolen from me once but I got it back the next day molested but kind of unharmed
.
Then months later my RSX-S was stolen and stripped
.
If you are worried about theft don't buy a Honda

you know i really do not understand this, honda sells far fewer cars compared to gm,ford,toyota... they hold very little market share compared to the big 3 and yet honda cars are some of the most stolen car in the us, **** the 94-01 teg hold so many spots on the top 25 stolen car list i was like damn... Im awwed by this....
Rsx theft is uncomparable to ITR theft. The only reason someone would pick YOUR rsx to steel is if you have some crazy rims or an intercooler in the front or you just got unlucky. Rsx if basically a regular car thats everywhere, so if you get yours stolen its probably one of those three reasons.
If you leave pretty much any ITR completely stock or modified anywhere, you have a really good chance of getting it stolen, b/c what are the chances the theif is going to find another ITR just parked there again, where as they see an Rsx just about every single day

You need to trail brake into and through the first apex of Big Bend. The car will then rotate nicely for trackout.

The RSX isn't stolen nearly as frequently as the R, or even the '92-'00 Civic or normal '94-'01 Integra models.
It's such a POS nobody wants it, even for free.

big bend is not so intimidating anymore even though its still one of the more technical turns of all the tracks i've been on
i was relating my very first experience there on stock ITR suspension...lol

Yeah, unfortunately I think it's only a matter of time before RSX theft starts really picking up. The TSX and new Si will have the same problem, as will the RDX. Basically anything with a halfway decent K-motor in it will be a huge theft target.

LOL..
I love the AVATAR
You know when I had my RSX-S I installed some coilovers and dropped the car no more than 2 inches and the car rode like complete ****. I took it in for alignment and they could not fix the caster and the front wheels got positive camber . I was in shock
And it rode like **** when I took a curve or corner and there was uneven surfaces.
