Will be painting the car in early spring, after I get the engine dropped in.

I am talking to a guy who will let me do all the prepwork and just pay to have the spraywork done (the guy is an artist with a spraygun, can be hired for reasonable $$$ if I do all the prepwork).

Been a long, long time since I sanded and prepped a car, I usually sell my cars before 120K, so no need to have one painted. Haven't done sanding/prep for one of the newer clearcoats, need to update my know-how.

I want this one done right. Anyone know a good basic book for bodywork/painting that isn't 400 pages long but has good layout and tricks for prepwork for clearcoats? Need very specific tips like how to prep rock-dings, stuff like that, the finer tricks, not just general "how to sand".
