SI tranny question
Had to switch transmissions in my 89 hatch, both transmissions have gold stamps L3-1 making them both 88/89 and both are PL3-3000 making them SI correct? One has 20 splines and one has 21 why is that? my clutch is brand new on my 89 SI tranny that I pulled out but its 20 spline and wont fit on the 21 spline of course

'88 D-series transmissions had the 21-spline input shaft. '89-91 transmissions had the 20-spline input shaft.

You need an '88 clutch for the '88 trans.
