Pinwheel clicking noise from engine bay?
I did a search for "clicking noise" and found lots of threads, but none seem to relate specifically to my problem.
About a week ago, I realized a tapping/clicking noise coming from the engine bay. To best describe the sound, it sounds like the needle hitting the spokes of a pinwheel when its turned (kinda like the the ones used in game shows).
It correlates to the throttle. During idle (and when it's in neutral), it clicks; when I rev the engine, the noise clicks/beats faster.
My car drives fine (or that's what I think), and I tried to best pinpoint the noise to what it seems to be "inside" the head. Based on the search results, I might think its a bent valve? Some may say its the motor mounts, but the noise doesn't seem to generate from there.
Could it be anything else? Has anyone had this problem? Is it an easy DIY job?
Sorry for the long post; just wanted to make it as detailed as possible. Thanks!

Can't say I'm familiar with what that is.... if it is, then the sound wasn't noticeable before, that's the thing.
Anyone else has a remedy for this problem? thanks!

pretty worried 'bout this problem... I'd go to the mechanic if I can't fix it myself... but iono what the problem is and I don't wanna get $$ raped by them.
Help?

check to make sure nothings caught in the belt or something. I had a plastic clip that holds a wire loom break off one winter, and the loom was rubbing on the belt and making a ticking sound when it jumped.

i get a similar sound from my engine. When i try to listen to it, it seems like my "ticking" is coming from the cam gear area. Its definately coming from the engine, and i dont know what it is either. But no adverse affects in driving, not that i can notice...

Nope... but I just found out.. after doing some hands-on investigation.... one of my damn SPARK PLUGS was loose.... I had to screw back the spark plug tight and also the complimentary wire.
Thanks everyone!
