Some of you know that co-direct the IMSM Racing Series here in Illinois. Well on November 19th we had a meeting to discuss our plans for the 2007 racing season. As of right now we are looking at 9 classes with a possible tenth if I can get support from racers, mainly the faster Tuner cars in the Midwest. We will have street classes and pro classes, and also will be converting the series to a traveling series for 2007. Listed below are the subjects talked about in the meeting and ideas we have for classes and rules for 2007.

Now here is my suggestion about a all out tuner class, whoud do some of the faster tuner cars out there think of a heads up run what you brung, no tire size limit, no turbo size limit, no weight limit, no suspension limits or chassis limits. Any thing goes run what you brung fastest tuner car down the 1320 wins?? Racing fee whould be about $150 $25 to the track and $125 into a pot. Less then 6 cars winner takes all, more then 6 cars the winnings will be divided up per the winning purse rule that will be released in the off season. Cars in this class may be of FWD, RWD or AWD powered.


PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL ISSUES BELOW ARE NOT FINAL THESE ARE MEARLY SUGGESTIONS FOR THE 2007 SEASON AND ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE BEFORE THE START OF THE FIRST RACE. THESE SUGGESTIONS WERE BRUNG UP BY THE RACERS AND WERE ALL NOTED FOR FINAL VOTING BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS. THIS SERIES CREATED FOR THE RACERS BY THE RACERS SO ANY POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE FEEDBACK WILL HELP US IMPROVE ON OUR SERIES FOR THE 2007 SEASON. ALSO SOME RULES MAY CHANGE DURING THE SEASON TO HELP EASE THE POLICING OF THE CLASSES SO EVERYONE WILL HAVE A PLACE TO RACE WITH WHATEVER CAR THEY BRING TO THE TRACK.

Street Compact 11.60: Heads up Pro .400 11.60 cap (No limitations - Sport Compact only)
Street Intimidator 12.50: Heads up Pro .400 12.50 cap (No limitations)
Street Heat 11.60: Heads up Pro .400 11.60 cap (No limitations)
Street Avenger 10.50: Heads up Pro .400 10.50 cap (No limitations)

Pro Division
Pro X-Treme 8.50: Heads up Pro .400 8.50 cap (No limitations)
Pro Outlaw 7.50: Heads up Pro .400 7.50 cap (No limitations)
Pro Eliminator: Heads up Pro .400 (Rules and Regs remain the same from 2006)
Pro X-Treme Tuner: Heads up Pro .400 (Suggested class for 2007) No limitations

Notes From Drivers Meeting
Donations are being taken for a booth at the drag Expo in January. We are looking at a $50 donation and that will cover everything from the booth to Flyers

Street Fighter and Street Warrior will be combined next year for one Bracket Class of 12.00-19.99

All Heads up classes will remain on a Pro .400 Tree and Street Fighter will remain a Sportsman .500 tree

Street Avenger- you must have a D.O.T Drag Radial or Slick as a tire no "street tires allowed" must be a made for racing tire

Street Dominator( this class is targeted for "Street Cars" running the time bracket of 9.80 and 10.20- Any suspension Mod allowed
Tire Size regulated to a 10.50 tire with any suspension mod.
Single Plate Nitrous system only with the following 1 Nitrous solenoid, 1 fuel solenoid, 1 purge solenoid NO CROSS PLATES ALLOWED
Weights-
Big Block N/A 3300 lbs any carb
N/A Small Block- 2900 lbs any carb
Boosted Cars- Nitrous Injected 3100 Boosted 3300

10 gallon primary fuel system
Production Intake Manifolds Only (mass produced) no welds on intakes for purpose of modifying
No Piping inside car for inner-cooler, inner-cooler must be placed between front bumper and firewall no exceptions.
Mufflers (noise reducer) must turn down in front of rear axle
Full interior from firewall to front seats, everything from front seats on back may be removed but must have a rear seat delete plate or carpeting. Cars must look professional when gutted.
