Something wrong with my shifter/gears?
My shifter moved easy through gears until last night after I had dinner and I was leaving and then my shifter felt odd. It feels like I have to force it just slightly into the gears or that there's some resistance, as if my clutch wasn't pressed in fully. Is this something I should be concerned about?
happens occasionally USUALLY when your parked and you have to go in reverse or first.
I row through the gears before i move to "loosen it up"
and its fine after that.

Anybody else know what might be wrong? I was thinking about driving it over to the dealer. I've never had a brand new car before so how does warranty go? Can I just drive it over there and they'll see if there is a problem for free?

You can take it in, but they will tell you nothing is wrong. I have the same problem when the car has been parked for a while or it is cold. Once the car warms up, it improves back to what feels "normal".
Like Mike (Type-X), I run the shifter through the gears a couple times before I take off.
Are stating that it is still difficult even after the car has warmed up? Remember, the gear box uses like 80 weight oil. When that stuff gets cold, it's like molasses.

Everything was fine and I parked the car for an hour or two only. I always warm up my car, plus it's like 80 degrees here. I was still driving around a little last night and drove some today, still feels odd.
And yeah, I am a little afraid of going to the dealer and them saying nothing is wrong or not caring much about it. Especially since I didn't buy it from them(purchased out of state).

did you look under the hood (cable bushings) and in the shifter box itself to see if anything was out of the ordinary???

That's why I'm asking though. I wasn't sure if it was normal in a manual car that it might change for some reason that could be explained or if something was wrong with my shifter/gears. It feels different now than it did the whole week I've been driving it before this. I thought at first maybe I was just tired or something, but there is definitely a different feel to it now.
As for looking under the hood, I wouldn't know what to look for.

Honda's don't use 80w for tranny oil. It is closer to a 10-30. Go buy a bottle of 80w and Honda Manual Trans fluid and tell me it is like 80w. It is far from it.
