Anyone running an Injen CAI with a hydrashield?
I've always wanted an Injen CAI for performance, but I'm scared of hydrolock. I know, I know, hydrolocking is very rare, but about 3 weeks ago I actually drove through an unavoidable 6 inch puddle... and that very well could have been the end of me if I had a CAI on my car. Corsport has the intake for $265 shipped, and also offers hydrashields to match. They offer the sheilds in black, blue, and red (I would get blue since I have a fiji blue si) and 3 separate sizes (1033, 1034, 1035). I've been told from Tai at Corsport that the 1033 is the best fit, and it is only $29 shipped.
So my question is, does anyone have the combo installed on their car? Also, the shield is only water repellant, not water proof, so how effective do you think it would be?
Oh yeah, and I think this is more or less a 2 hour install? Anyone that can verify that?
Thanks

Honestly i ran a hydrashield on my cai mounted on my tsx...
ONLY because i was given it.
if your driving through water SO high...that you have to wrry if you are going to hydrolock your motor than i really dont think that it matters whats covering the filter.
it takes ALOT to suck in water.

took about an hour to install, you don't need the hydrashield because as type x said, if you were indeed to hydrolock, then the shield wouldn't do **** anyway, just get it you'll be fine, don't drive through lakes.
I have the AEM CAI with the hydroshield and it makes a world of difference. like they ^^^^^^ said if you drive through a huge puddle there's nothing you can do but if your driving around in the rain or hitting some little puddles the hydro shield is well worth it. my car would stall out sometimes in the rain before i installed the hydroshield and since it was installed I have not had any problems. (Knock on wood)
