Default Accord H22 vs. Civic Si

I have done research and all but if anyone knows from facks and experience please help. No opinions please. Would a 97 accord coup with h22 stock everything beat or lose to a 99-00 civic si stock? please give some advise on that. thanks

Well, it would be close enough that it would depend alot on the driver.

Civic Pros:
-Solid shift linkage, MUCH faster shifts if the driver can do it
-Better gearing

Accord Pros:
-More torque, more forgiving
-Easier to launch since you can roll onto the H22 and not bog it.

So I guess it comes down to which one of you can drive better

Beat as in what???? From a roll? From a stop? Tires? You won't get a factual answer with the limited info provided.

Do the conditions of the race even matter? All these types of posts are kind of silly. I smoked a total of 4 C5s in my old B16 hatch, even though the vette was waaaaay faster. Still, each time the vette driver spent most of the race spinning the tires. All 4 vettes that got beat were sticks, I couldn't even come close to hanging w/an auto.

Ditto for the M46 driver who looked like he was going to cry after he couldn't pass me in a stock Miata over a really tight and twisty section of hill country

To OP, bench racing is silly. Go run 'em and see what happens

Yeah this doesnt really belong here, but to answer your question, i think with the information listed, it would come down to the drivers ability.

Dude, really. It's going to come down to the driver. Make sure you can launch, make sure you can shift fast w/o scratching (know *exactly* where the gear is b/c the cables won't help you) and you'll be fine. Drive like an asshat and you will lose.

drag racing is gay anyway. i hate it when people judge a cars performance by its 1/4 time. im pretty sure honda, or any manufacturer, spent millions on R&D so they can say "alright guys, good job. this beats the 1/4 time of our competitor."

i think soccer is gay and its the most popular sport in the world

drag racing is a sport if you dont like it then so be it. i happend to be grow up in the area where the import drag racing scene all started, watching the grassroot guys go all the way pro. sucks the sport has died out in the west coast but atleast it is flourishing on the east coast now.

now, street racing IS GAY

He He yeah faqs is so much better. Drag racing is cool, street racing well it's alright with me , if its set up right. But bench racing ,now thats gay. With that being said its a drivers race for sure. Stock for stock they both run low 15's in the 1/4

Any civic si's older than 06 is not very hard to beat if you have an H22. As long as you can get traction, youre good
