reading rims/tire? choosing the right tire to go with your rims?

Examples:
15" x 6.5" = height of the rim x width of the rim
+35/+40 = offset of the rim, the more negative (less positive) the offset, the more the rim will stick out under the fender.
4h/5h = 4-lug or 5-lug
100/114.3 = smaller distance between holes/larger distance between holes.
An ideal rim for a Civic would be 15" x 6.5", +40 (stock is +45, I think), 4x100. Tire size for this rim, 195/50/15, however, I am using 205/50/15.

As mentioned, for a street-driven '92-00 Civic, you'll want wheels sized 15x6.5" diameter x width, +40mm offset, 4x100mm bolt pattern. The 15" tire size for a '92-95 Civic is 195/50-15, and for a '96-00 Civic is 195/55-15 or 205/50-15.
