Default Quick Question

Someone came by and said they had a friend with a '99 Civic with a 6 speed. I called bullshit. He brought the car by, and sure enough, it had a 6 speed. Obviously this isn't factory since the 6 speeds came out in '01 in the Type-R, but I was just curious if it was possible to mate a 6 speed from the '01+ Civics with the '99? Or maybe they just stuck in a '01+ motor/trans combo in the '99 body... who knows. I was just curious though.

I honestly don't even know what I was thinking.

My fuckup on this thread. For some reason, type-r and six-speed kind of clicked in my head.

expletive me on this one, I really should know better.

Unless I'm that fookin' blind... no 6 speed is mentioned until the '01+ section.
Question tho: Since I don't know much about Civics... what is a "K Series"?

A K series motor is just that, a K##X# motor, much like a D##X# or B##X#. They first made their most common in newer CR-V's, RSX's, and Civic Si's.

Oh okay cool.

So back to what EGwhat!!! said...

It shows the K series engines on '01+ Civics, like I had originally mentioned the 6 speeds were mentioned. All previous models were D and B series engines... and god forbid if a 6 speed was mated to a CVCC
