i just built a 1.8 non-vtec from the ground up and im geting valve noise when the car warms up not when its cold. I have je 10.5.1 piston, full gude package, str block guard, aem cold air, aem fuel pressure reg, venom fuel rail,venom injectors, and DC header with cat-back, and safc. I really don't want to pull the head if thats not the problem but i can't think of anything else. The valves are 6-7 intake and 7-8 exh. STOCK! . Gude had me set them to 4 intake and 5 exh. but no change. Anybody have an idea's plz let me know.

 

4-6 is what i would recommend. How is your timing?

 

instead of wondering.. i suggest you check your valves so you know for a fact it aint that.
