Ok, so today my dizzy on my d16z6 took a crap. The cap / rotor button look to be in good shape. Not bad enough to crap out.

So it must be the coil? Will a coil from a non vtec dizzy work? or must it be a vtec dizzy? Such as the si / vx?

I know the Y8 and Y7 are the same, and I assume it isn't any diferent for the older models

same i assume but not 100% on that. what exactly happened , what makes oyu think its your dizzy?

 

driving along.. all a sudden car dies, I check for spark no spark.. swapped dizzys and then worked like a charm
