Default RSX TYPE-S tranny victim #80054645123789764

S#%&#.........

I was driving normally tonite, no speeding, no nothing

Came to a stop light, light turned green, started off in 1st and then when I went to

shift into 2nd...............nothing, clutch all the way in nothing........

Drove home in 1st, 3rd and 5th. I don't have 2nd, 4th, 6th or reverse.

Rass!!!, Bombaclat!!!, fucre!!!!

I'm gonna call Acura when I get back from turkey vacation. Does anyone know if the factory warranty was extended because of tranny problems. For the record mine is an '02 w/ 57,778miles and the mods are:

CAI
2.5 inch catless custom exhaust
tein springs
Competion Clutch stage 2 w/Act Prolite flywheel (I hope they dont give me **** about this but they probably will)

Funny enough when i first bought the car I went to acura to see if any work was done on it and the clutch was previously changed at 30,000 miles under warranty I thought the clutch was a wear item.

well if you dont have 2nd 4th or 6th or Reverse, it migh tbe a broken shifter cable. cause its kinda odd to have all those geras go out at the same time. but most definately its the shifter cable. maybe the cotter pin came out.

shifter cables are in place
cotter pins are alittle loose but still in place
Both cables are still connected, I'm even able to move the cable closest to the engine back and forth

any other ideas??

before you start blaming the car for not working right or saying that tranny is broken. check your CAI. it could be hitting the hammer that swings when you change into 2nd, 4th, and 6th. that is what it sounds like to me. if it's not that then let us know what it is.

I'll check that when i get back from D.C.
I hope its as simple as that cause I got no warranty anymore (57,770)

because u had problems with ur transmission and u upgraded ur clutch and flywheel, they will deny the warranty job because a tranny job isnt cheap

Well I checked under the car and the shifter console and the cables are not tied up and the cables doesn't hit the CAI

SO it looks like I going to start of the new year with some serious CC debt.

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1st 3rd 5th extend the shift linkage farthest towards your cai, its not that its not getting full travel, because you would feel it "catching" on your intake. 2nd, 4th, etc.. go back the other way, so that cant be it.

and you did check both inside the engine bay and under the center console right? have someone shift inside the car while you watch the linkage move 1st, 3rd, 5th, then see what happens for 2nd 4th and 6th. if the linkage doesnt move, its between the cable, and shifter. if it does move, see if its moving enough.

does your gears engage smoothly? or do they feel notchy? could be your clutch pedal position adjustment. too much can force too much clutch fluid into the master/slave cylinder and cause leaks. too little wont allow the clutch fork to move all the way to disengage.

if you hear your car making grinding noises when it drives around, or even at idle.. that means yes your synchros or something is messed up bad... unfortunately i had 2nd gear disappear while coming home much like you... but all geras worked for me. but i had to hear every tooth break off of my transmission when i drove it that two blocks to my house.
