srp 81.5 pistons can i still use them

Default srp 81.5 pistons can i still use them

these pistons have 10k miles on them and i cracked the rings so i bought some new sleeves and wanting to know if i can still use these same pistons with new rings???


and since the engine is apart i used all arp studs for the head,main caps and rods can i still use them or will i have to buy new ones

all the help needed

it depends on how bad the damage is....pics? if the rings were bad, it doesn't necessarily mean that the piston is bad....however if the ring actually "broke" the rings, generally the ring lands are the cause of the failure.

So... you cracked the rings themselves? As long as the cylinders are w/in specs (no major damage a hone wouldn't take out) and the pistons not scuffed, I'd say they could be reused. I just wouldn't trust them with as much power as before.
