Any be-series alt. can work, you just may have to re-pin some of the wires.

Okay so if that's true how come my Mech is so adament about the TD28U OEM part #. Why didn't he think of that, he's been in Japan working on B16's and turbo's for 8 years.

Is the vehicle OBD0 or OBD1? If its OBD0 your only real option is to get one from some place like distributor king or get one used off ebay. OBD1/2 distributors won't work with OBD0 ECU's due to the internals so you can't just repin to work.

Dude, You can get a BRAND NEW TD-22 (correct part #) online from us, distributor king, ebay.. whatever... jezus. It's so damn easy. They aren't some mystery part you need to import from japan.

TD-22 is a OBD0 B16 Distributor.

Brand new as in BRAND SPANKIN? And not rebuilt? is that $240 with shipping? And my Mech said the bracket or mount (which is part of the dizz's housing) is why the OEM# matters so much, but if TD-22U doesn't differ from the 28 as far as that is concerned then... we might be in buisiness here real soon.
PS Hope my lamens terms aren't offensive. I'm kinda new to all this.

Alright here's the real deal since you are being so helpful. I am definately hyped to get this part from you. If, by chance my Mech finds this is not the right part will you refund if I cover shipping? And how late you up, because I need to deposit the cash in order for you to charge my card. Paypal? ? Oh and this popped up "The coupon code you have entered is not valid."
