Default I'd like to meet some HC drivers around the Virginia Beach area

Like it says above, I'm really interested in meeting some racers around my area. I have been building and racing honda's (drag racing) for a few years, and I'm ready for a new challenge.

I'm willing to drive a couple hours to meet with you. I'd like to see your car, talk about some of the challenges, rules, tips, lifestyle etc. As some of you know, import drag racing is full of a$$ holes, and from what I hear, road racing seems to have a much more mature crowd.

Are there many racers (and events) around VaBeach?

Thanks guys!!

Zephyr nailed it with the above names. There are alot of guys who do track events in the VB area. As far as events there are none less than 4 hours away. So it kinda depends on your definition of in the area is. VIR and Summit Point are the closest tracks, with Dragons Ridge only 1.5 hr away if it ever gets finished. Your best bet is to go to an event there you will see a much larger aray of set ups.

I still call VA beach home if that counts...even though i'm near charlotte for a little while. I'll be up in the area for the holiday weekend if you have any questions.

My buddies (Poision on HT) and I autocross several times a month and enjoy meeting other drivers. We plan on starting HPDE's next year. If you like to me us let me know and we can set up a date and time. We are in Hampton, VA which is about 30 minutes from VA Beach.

Wow, great responses. Thanks a lot guys. PM's sent.

So, which HC class seems to have the most cars on the East coast?

that depends on the weekend.

If you are serious about racing consider your budget first. Don't attempt to race H1 on a H5 budget. The slow cars are just as much fun as the fast ones, they just cost a lot less when they get blown up.

I have two H5 cars that are for sale that will get you racing for very little money.

Im not rich by any means, but the budget is not one of my concerns. The reason I asked which class has the most cars was to find the class with the most competition. I have no problem running H4 or H5, I just want to make sure there are more than a couple cars on the track. Another thing that I hated about import drag racing, was that there was rarely a 16 car (or 8 for that matter) field, unless you had a Turbo4 (SFWD) car.

Thanks for the help guys, I really appreciate it!

We'd be all down to meet up. Check out http://www.autocross.us. That is the local forum for all NASA and SCCA events along with other local clubs around here.

*Raises Hand* Beno here, I drive the #8 H5 car in the ECHC. I live in VB and the cars are based out of Chesapeake. If you have any questions just ask.

Z, are you preparing your white Si for battle in '07?

I have raced in H5 with ECHC for the last 5 seasons. I live in Suffolk, way out in the Holland aread.

PM me if you have any questions.

I typically autocross one of my CRXs once a month with Tidewater Sports Car Club. Various autocrossers and others hang out on http://www.autocross.us.

Yes that is the car that I won the 2005 ECHC H5 Championship in and the 2006 National Championship with. Not getting out of the game, just re-tooling the opperation.

Beno, you are correct. The white Si will be the new car for 2007.
